Division Sorting

The VAR Sorting division processes waste from industrial companies, shops, institutions and private households. The delivered waste is separated into so-called mono flows (batches of one and the same material) and a residual flow (residual materials). A proportion of the mono flows (metal, plastics) are returned to the industry for reuse. Another proportion is processed by VAR itself: timber and GFV (garden, fruit and vegetable waste) by the Biogenics division, and rubble by the Minerals division. The residual flow is separated into high-calorific waste (good burning characteristics) and low-calorific waste (poor burning characteristics). The high-calorific flow (materials such as carpet, textile, films) is converted into secondary fuel by the Energy division.
