De Veluwse Puin Recycling (VPR) is established to process construction and demolition waste from the region.

 1990

Takeover of operation of the regional dumpsite 'de Sluiner' from the Municipality of Voorst, on the basis of public-private participation. VAR started Dumping operations.

 1990

Installation commissioned for composting garden, fruit and vegetable waste (GFV waste).

Purchase of the 'de Sluiner' site. Establishing of the construction centre. The construction centre (subsequently Engineering division) is responsible for coordinating all construction and development activities of the VAR divisions.

Opening of the sorting plant. VAR starts sorting waste flows from private households and businesses.

VAR pushes the boundaries. A composting installation developed by the Engineering division is commissioned in Arzamas, Russia.

Start of remediation of the ‘former’ municipal dumpsite.

VAR starts production of secondary fuels; energy from waste.

VAR receives ISO 14001 certificate.

VAR receives ISO 9001 certificate.

Merger of the activities of the Sorting plant and production of Secondary fuels.

VAR starts Wood recycling activities. Waste timber flows are processed into raw materials for the chipboard industry, and waste timber is converted into secondary fuel.

VAR expands its activities to include the removal of dumpsites, wood processing and artificial grass recycling.

VAR purchases a company in Spijk and launches the processing of high-calorific waste flows into secondary fuel for power stations.

VAR receives the RHP inspection mark for Composting and for Soil remediation, VAR receives the BRL SIKB 7500 certificate.

Commissioning of unique asbestos separator, jointly developed by VAR.

Commissioning of mixing installation for Rubble recycling.

Commissioning of mobile rubble crusher.

Start of construction of GFV fermentation installation.

Opening of GFV fermentation installation.
